It's Time to Get Serious

Have you ever tried to find a business partner? Someone who shared your vision, had a similar work ethic, and the skills you needed to take your great idea from the back of a cocktail napkin to fruition?

I'll give you a hint, it's harder to find a business partner than it is to find a New Year's Eve date.

You might even say it's virtually impossible.

Networking events are a meat market. The people who aren't trying to get you to join their network marketing/MLM scheme are either selling insurance or looking for a job. Even if you luck into a carefully curated B2B event, there is almost no chance to find other business people looking for a partner or new business opportunity. Which is why I started the NH Business Partner Finder Group.

Success Starts Here

Do you know the difference between people who fail and people who succeed?

It's mental fortitude.

The fast track to success starts with a can-do attitude coupled with a strong work ethic. That means no excuses and no putting things off until next week so you can lay on the couch and binge watch Game of Thrones.

The new year is traditionally a time for new beginnings and I am launching the new NH Business Partner Finder group on Monday, January 2nd, the first business day of the new year.

A Mobile Bar? Do they make house calls?

My first thought when I saw "mobile bartending service" was lunch truck with liquor and I thought "Wow, that is brilliant."

Tea and water are my standard work beverages, but there was a time back when I was a cube dweller when a quick shot at lunchtime wouldn't have gone amiss, so when I saw Kathy Torres' post about her mobile bartending business, Pour Me Bartending, LLC, on meetup.com I knew I had to meet her. Between you and me, that was the best decision I made that week.

The first thing I should say is while Pour Me Bartending, LLC is a mobile bartending service, they don't have a lunch truck and don't bring the liquor.

What they do bring is the bar setup and an incredible staff of experienced bartenders who will take the pressure off you so you can enjoy your event with your guests.

No worries about how to mix someone's favorite drink, how much liquor you should have on hand or what kind of mixers you need. Instead of getting stuck behind the bar, you get to spend your time dancing, socializing and eating with everyone else.

And if that isn't enough, Pour Me Bartending, LLC is going to save you a lot of money.

Happy Monday People! My May vacation is over and I am back in the hive refreshed, renewed and regenerated. Okay, that might be a stretch, but I am back in the office ready to tackle this week's tasks. Which is a really a round about way of getting to this week's topic.

From the dawn of time man has always wanted to find a shortcut to success.

There are literally millions of books, magazines, classes and coaches who are very happy to share their insights on how to succeed for a fee. Forget about them. There is no one size fits all formula for success.

We all come from different backgrounds. We have different ideas, work styles and situations. There is no way that one system is going to work the same for everyone.

The Exciting Life of an Entrepreneur

Being your own boss can be a great option in today's unreliable job market, but it's not for everyone.

On top of the challenge of finding clients, paying bills and taking on all those pesky chores that your former co-workers used to do, like billing, accounts receivable and marketing, you still have to find a way to service your customers and mix in enough down time so that you don't get burned out.

Join me for this week's edition of Live from the Hive as David Barron from New Hampshire Hypnosis and I compare notes and discuss the ups and downs of being self-employed.
