Have you ever wondered what exactly the Small Business Administration (SBA) can do for you? Here's your chance to find what programs are available and how they can help you start and grow YOUR New Hampshire business!
What is the first thing people ask when you tell them you're starting a business? "Did you check the SBA?"
If you're like most small business owners you shrug and say you're not planning on getting a loan. But you know what? Loans are just a small part of the Small Business Administration's programs.
Their mission is to "aid, counsel, assist and protect the interests of small business concerns, to preserve free competitive enterprise and to maintain and strengthen the overall economy of our nation," and while some of that includes helping business owners find financing, it's just one piece of the SBA pie.
In an effort to share information about SBA programs and resources, the New Hampshire district of the SBA is doing a monthly open house at the New Hampshire Secretary of State's Office, you know, where you go to register your business and trade name. The next open house is next Thursday, January 4th from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM, 25 Capitol Street, 3rd Floor in Concord.
If you can't make next week, they will be there the first Thursday of every month through December 2018. For more information please visit the SBA website: www.sba.gov or give them a call at 603-225-1400. Don't be intimidated by the idea of calling a government agency. I've met several of the people from our local SBA and they are super nice, very professional people who want nothing more than to connect you with the resources you need to succeed.
