Black Friday/Small Business Saturday/Cyber Monday

In case you haven't been to the Queen City Buzz website this week, there are some significant (temporary) changes to the homepage.

We all know that I don't take paid ads on the blog. My goal is to build a platform to promote local businesses, and while paid advertising doesn't necessarily conflict with that goal, I don't want people to feel like they have to pay to participate. I also don't want to spend all my time doing sales, but that is a whole other conversation...

So when John Morgan from Island Breeze Virtual Assistants challenged me to come up with a way to promote local businesses who are offering Black Friday, Small Business Saturday or Cyber Monday sales this year, I thought "why not?"

It was very short notice, but I did it.

In fact, it worked out so well I'm going to do it again in December.

From December 5th through December 25th I'm giving away ad space to local businesses. It doesn't matter whether your business is B2B, B2C, sells a service or products, if you're a local small business trying to reach the local New Hampshire market, I want to hear from you. Just email at buzz@queencity.buzz, be sure to put "Holiday" in the subject line.

Until then, please visit my homepage and check out this week's Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday advertisers.

Wrap Up

It is official, I had confirmation from Rob Hanson at Aroma Joe's Coffee that we can use his shop for the new meetup. I haven't had time to set up an event on Eventbrite, but it will be up by the end of next week. Just to recap, I am starting a new networking group called NH Business Partner Finder. (see How to Find a Business Partner in 1 Easy Step)

This will be a quarterly networking group for people trying to find a business or project partner and the first meeting will be Monday, January 2nd from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM at Aroma Joe's Coffee, 2 S. Beech Street, Manchester.

The goal is to create a place where local entrepreneurs and freelancers can meet other entrepreneurs and freelancers interested in collaborating on projects and/or becoming working business partners.

The emphasis here is on working. The NH Business Partner Finder group is meant to be a place to find collaborators and active partners, not:

  • Investors/Angel Funding
  • Free Outsourcing
  • Legal or other professional advice (Most people are happy to share their personal experience, but it's not a replacement for talking to a lawyer, accountant or other industry professional.)

Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions, I can be reached at buzz@queencity.buzz.

That's all I've got for this week. Before you go, don't forget to hop over to the homepage and check out the Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday advertisers.

Have a great week!
